I designed these encaustic tiles with the purveyors of all things Mexico, Milagros, in Columbia Road. They were designed for my kitchenduring the renovationsof our house in East London.

The idea was to create an allover random pattern, Iwanted to create a disorder. I knew the tiler would try andmake sense of the designs soI handed him tiles without any aforethought as he laid them.

The x5 colourways are now available to buy through Milagros. I love the way they have been utilised by other clients, some creating beautiful order.
